Biography
Peter arrived at UWS in Sept 2010, fresh from ten years in Japan. He spent that time in Japan more or less evenly between Kyoto University and Ritsumeikan University. He has authored a number of books and essays on Japanese-U.S. relations.

Imperial Japanese Navy; Japanese foreign policy; Japanese rearmament; Japanese-US relations; U.S. foreign policy; international history; World War II; Cold War
Grants / Current Projects
Peter is currently working on two research projects. The first comprises a history of the Japanese attack on the US naval base at Pearl Harbor in December 1941. The second is a history of America's post-WWII alliance relationships with Japan and with Australia.
