Dr Xiangdong Liu
Biography
Dr Xiangdong Liu teaches in the areas of Japanese language, linguistics, translation and interpreting studies. Prior to her appointment at the University of Western Sydney, she worked as an interpreter and translator (Chinese - Japanese) for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Peoples Republic of China, and taught Japanese at Curtin University of Technology in Perth. She joined UWS in 1994 and developed the Japanese language programs at the Bankstown campus. Dr Liu is also a NAATI accredited interpreter (Japanese - English).
Qualifications:
PhD in Japanese Linguistics, University of Sydney.
Graduate Diploma in Interpreting and Translation, University of Western Sydney.
M.A. in Japanese Studies, University of Tsukuba, Japan.
B.A. in Japanese Language Studies, Beijing Foreign Studies University, China.
