Biography
Jane Caro is an author, novelist, journalist, columnist, lecturer, advertising writer and media commentator. She has been a writer in the advertising business for over 30 years and now runs her own communications consultancy and lectures in Ad Creative at UWS.
She has published three books, two non-fiction; The Stupid Country; How Australia is Dismantling Public Education (Co-authored with Chris Bonnor) and The F Word; How we Learned to Swear by Feminism (co-authored with Catherine Fox). And a novel, Just a Girl released in 2011. She has a regular column “Scene from Below” in the Australian Institute of Marketing magazine.
She is on the boards of Bell Shakespeare, where she chairs the company’s Artistic Advisory Panel, and The NSW Public Education Foundation.
She is a sought after debater and speaker and also appears regularly in the media, including Q&A, Sunrise, ABC’s The Drum, SkyNews Late Agenda, Richard Glovers Political Forum, 10 News Soapbox and, of course, The Gruen Transfer. She presents a regular segment on Weekend Sunrise with Joe Hildebrand; “Masters of Spin”.
