Lecturer Jing Han

Biography

Jing Han received her PhD in English literature from Sydney University in 1995. She also received her Masters degree in Literary Criticism from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1986. Dr Han has been working at SBS TV as the chief subtitler, having subtitled more 200 Chinese films and TV programs into English. She started teaching translation and interpreting courses at UWS in 2006.

- Being invited to a panel of "China in Translation"in 2009 Sydney Writers Festival.
- Ongoing engagement at Beijing Foreign Studies University teaching subtitling and translation theories.
- An ongoing professional subtitler.
