Biography

Lecturer in Photography at UWS since 1991 and coordinator of the Photomedia area from 1999.

Author, exhibitor of Photography whose work is held in many collections in Australia and the United States including the George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

My research interest is the experimentation into the hybrid possibilities of the photographic process and ways of extending the photographic image into new territory through the use of both old and new technologies in combination.

This working method is closest to pure scientific experimentation, in that the answers are speculative and unpredictable but once the parameters are defined, they are repeatable with the potential for various outcomes.

There is a visual logic in the working strategy, that utilizes aspects of chance and informed testing to create a range of situations where images may be generated that stem from the actual photographic medium itself. Using this methodology, providing an overall continuity within my whole body of work.
