Mr John Keyse
Mr John Keyse is the Technical Officer (Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics) working within the Institutes Next Generation Sequencing Facility. As the Technical Officer (Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics) John is responsible for data generated by the Illumina HiSeq and Roche GS Junior sequencing platforms and assists in the day-to-day running of the Next Generation Sequencing facility.
Graduating in Marine Biology from Plymouth University, John has gained over 5 years of professional microbiology experience working within operations in the water industry. Prior to joining UWS in 2012 John worked for GeneWorks for over two years as a Genome Analyst producing Next Generation Sequencing data and Genotyping data using Massarray technology.
Technical Expertise
- Liaising with internal and external clients in regard to sample preparation and quality.
- CDNA library preparation and quality control of samples.
- Organisation of quality control data and documentation for delivery to customers.
- Organisation of sequencing data into appropriate formats for delivery to customers.
