'A Moment of Opera and Song'

The artists will present an exciting afternoon of operatic arias and songs from composers Mozart, Gounod, Dvorak, R.Strauss, Duparc, Faure and Blom.

Soprano Ayse Goknur Shanal has won many Awards and Scholarship nationally and internationally in the classical music world, including the Australian Singing Competition, MsDonald's Operatic Aria and Queen's Trust for Young Australians, to name a few. She has worked with Dame Joan Sutherland and Maestro Richard Bonyngue, among others. Ayse Goknur is currently in her last semester of Graduate Law Studies at UWS

Diana Blom is an esteemed composer, represented by the Australian Music Centre. She is also a harpsichordist and a pianist. In 1974 she was the composer in residence with the Australian Opera. Her compositions include chamber music for voice and piano, for violin and piano, percussion group and solo piano music. Diana Blom is the Associate Professor in, and Head of Program for Music, School of Communications.
