Description
The Australia-India Literatures International Forum brings together ten of India's most acclaimed regional writers and two major publishers with Australian readers, writers and audiences, in order to explore how linguistic diversity, vernacular cosmopolitanism, critical localism, and global regimes of translation and reception effect literature and its dissemination. This forum will consider the diverse traditions that define contemporary Australian and Indian writing, discuss the critical issues that shape it and explore how we may transmit and translate cultural literacy in each other’s linguistic and intellectual traditions.
