Dear Colleagues, The final SSH seminar for 2012 will take place this Friday 7th December, and will be given by Professor Peter Williams.

The seminar will be located in Building LZ.G.14 on Parramatta North campus with drinks and nibbles and all are welcome.

Title: Gazing into the mineralogical crystal ball: where is it all going?

When: Friday 7th December, 12.00 – 13.00, followed by refreshments

Presenter: Professor Peter Williams

Overview: Mineralogy is overwhelmingly a branch of inorganic chemistry stretching back for some centuries. This talk concentrates on some recent discoveries that have widespread applications and outcomes for a number of research areas in the twentieth century. Specific examples will be addressed as highlights and pointers to further research in areas ranging from organic catalysis, pollution studies and environmental and exploration geochemistry.
