Description
The Centre for Educational Research is hosting two days of presentations and round table discussions on the theme: Challenges and Opportunities for Educational Research in a Global Context at Parramatta Campus. Day 1, Tuesday 23rd July (9am - 5.45pm) comprises presentations by visiting scholars, Professor Michael A Peters (University of Waikato), Professor Brenda Yeoh Saw Ai (National University of Singapore), Dr Kalervo Gulson (University of New South Wales) and Dr Gregory Martin (University of Technology, Sydney) and research presentations from members of the Centre for Educational Research. On Tuesday evening 7-10pm, participants are invited to join the presenters at Sahra by the River (a local Parramatta Restaurant: 2/76 Phillip Street). The cost is $47 per head, for the banquet with drinks an additional cost. Participants to pay on the evening. Day 2, Wednesday 24th July (9am-4.00pm) research round tables will be facilitated by CER researchers and the visiting scholars. Themes covered in the sessions include: * Languages, Literacies and Identities; Critical literacies, Knowledge in Relation to Mobilisation and Global Movement * Internationalisation and Globalisation in Higher Education, Asian Century, Language Proficiency * Mobilisation, Cosmopolitanism * Critical Pedagogies and Methodologies in Globalisation Research, Ethnographies * Financialisation and Economics * Global South
