Inaugural Professional Lecture on STEM Education

STEM education is increasingly of interest in both government, industry and educational circles. Western Sydney University is also highlighting areas of STEM education, with the appointment of Prof Holmes into a STEM education position and the development of new STEM education degrees. Prof Holmes' research investigates the educational and career aspirations of children and young people with a particular focus on aspirations for STEM careers and study. The research is timely given the release of the National STEM School Education Strategy and ongoing reports of a lack of student interest in STEM disciplines in school.
