Did you know that 5% of our waste to landfill is clothing?
People are now starting to make ethical choices about their transportation, energy consumption and what they eat. We are even reducing our waste to land fill by sorting out our rubbish. But have you taken the time to think about shopping ethical for clothes? Have you considered buying secondhand and refashioning an item to suite your own style and personality?
These series of workshops will assist you in making these changes and helping to reduce the amount of clothing that goes to landfill. Come along and learn how to turn your unwanted or out-of-date fashion into a new creation.
In the first workshop you will need to bring a couple of old T-shirts, about 1 metre of elastic and a pair of scissors – no sewing experience necessary.
Workshops will be run for staff and students on Hawkesbury campus, twice a day at 12pm and 5pm. Spots are limited, so please RSVP for the workshop before 1st April. Full list of dates are below. Workshop dates: Thursday, 4th April Thursday, 11th April Thursday, 18th April Thursday, 2nd May.
