Professor Franck Ramus, Laboratoire de Sciences Cognitives et Psycholinguistique, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris will be presenting "The nature of phonological deficits in developmental dyslexia and specific language impairment".

Abstract: This talk attempts to address the nature of the cognitive deficit underlying developmental dyslexia, traditionally thought to be a “phonological deficit”. I will present a series of experiments attempting to further specify the nature of this phonological deficit, which lead me to entirely reconsider the extent to which the deficit can be thought of as phonological, and the extent to which it is something else (and if so what).
