- Description
Professor Marcus Taft, School of Psychology, University of NSW will be presenting ""A model of word recognition in reading".
Abstract: This talk will present a framework for conceptualising the way in which printed words are represented and retrieved from lexical memory. The model gives an account of naming without a separate GPC system, but nevertheless incorporates grapheme-phoneme translation. It also emphasises the importance of onsets/body structure. The model is as all-embracing as it can be, handling issues ranging from the processing of polymorphemic words to the assignment of letters to their appropriate position
