Description
Title: A platform to discover agents blocking cell cycle re-entry by quiescent cancer cells

When: Thursday 13th September, 1.00 pm – 2.00 pm, followed by refreshments

Where: Building 21.G.18, Campbelltown Campus

Presenter: Associate Professor Qihan Dong, UWS

Overview: Quiescent cancer cells have been found in various cancers and are proposed to be the potential source of cancer recurrence after cycling cells have been killed by chemo- and radio-therapy. With the aim to block the cell cycle re-entry by quiescent cancer cells, we have established models for cell cycle re-entry and assays for signals required for cell cycle re-entry. These functional and molecular assays enable us to search for chemicals and natural products in blocking cell cycle re-entry by quiescent cancer cells.
