Description
The overall winner of the Whitlam Institute’s What Matters? essay competition will be announced at a special University of Western Sydney awards ceremony at 3pm on Friday 17th August 2012.

The What Matters? competition, proudly sponsored by Officeworks, is an opportunity for students in years 5 to 12 in NSW and ACT schools to have their voices heard, by submitting a 400-600 word opinion piece on the issues in society that are important to them.

In 2012, more than 3,500 entries were received from students in years 5-12, representing more than 200 schools across NSW and the ACT.
