Women of the West Awards Ceremony

Annually on 8 March, International Women’s Day is held to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements.

Staff are invited to join colleagues, students and community members from Greater Western Sydney for the annual International Women’s Day celebration and presentation of the UWS Women of the West and Young Women of the West Awards.

Come and meet the 2013 Women of the West Award nominees who have made significant contributions to health care, education, business development and social justice in Greater Western Sydney. Our guest speaker will be acclaimed theatre director and writer, Ros Horin. An important force in Australian theatre, Ros is instrumental in giving asylum seekers and refugees a voice through productions including the award-winning Through the Wire, and the upcoming Baulkham Hills African Ladies Troupe.
