Workshop on Gender Equity

Professor Virginia Valian, author of  "Why so slow? The advancement of women" (MIT), will run a workshop on gender equity. Designed for early and mid career (below professor-level) academics, workshop topics will include: - a circle of advisors (instead of a single mentor); - professional development; - effectiveness in influencing decisions; - negotiation; - value of workshops; - women in leadership positions; - improving the status of women.
