Research

Since 2005, the Institute for Culture and Society (through its forerunner the Centre for Cultural Research) has held 31 Australian Research Council grants and received a total of $6.6m in external research funding ($5.9m in national competitive grants and $690,000 in other external grants). See the Projects page for a list of current projects.

The Institute also hosts two programs in the government-funded Cooperative Research Centre for Young People, Technology and Wellbeing (opens in a new window), led by Dr Philippa Collin and Dr Amanda Third. This Centre conducts research into how digital technologies can be used to increase wellbeing and happiness among young Australians.

The ICS has numerous local, national and international partnerships and links with Australian and international academic visitors.
