UWS VET Partnerships and Pathways

The University of Western Sydney is committed to its relationships with Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers. The University continues to develop strong links with these organisations and has a dedicated team to oversee and manage all aspects of its VET relationships.

The UWS/VET Relationships Manager is responsible for providing high level input into the strategic direction of the University’s interactions with a range of VET entities including specialist private providers, TAFE and HEP’s. In addition, the position manages and develops a range of strategies aimed at facilitating articulation pathways for VET students that take into account all aspects of the process including communication, admission, credit transfer and transition.

The core functions of the team include:

  • identifying partnership opportunities and collaborations that support the core principles of widening participation and inclusivity for improving higher education participation rates
  • managing, maintaining and developing credit transfer arrangements with VET providers
  • overseeing and updating all associated systems related to VET partnerships, pathways and credit transfer
  • facilitating the review and/or development of policy and procedures relating to pathways and credit transfer 
  • provision of strategic planning advice in relation to VET and the University for forward planning and future growth and development.

Additionally, UWS has a Pathways program (opens in a new window) for transfer from TAFE and Private Colleges to University study.
