Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education has established a range of subsidies to support the educational endeavours of both its students and staff members. The subsidies include:
Badanami are pleased to provide funding to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who wish to present a paper overseas at a conference within their area of study.
To be eligible for the funding students must have a full paper accepted for presentation at a conference, and must be one of the presenters of that paper or presentation. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who have had a paper or presentation accepted for a conference should contact Badanami to discuss the financial support available.
Study Abroad generally refers to a student who enrols for one or two semesters of study abroad at one of our partner institutions, but credits their study back to their UWS degree. Badanami recognises that studying abroad provides students with a range of unique opportunities to experience other cultures, enhance career prospects and improve professional and personal skills, all whilst living abroad. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students considering studying abroad should contact Badanami to discuss the financial support available.
Considering becoming a teacher?
Fantastic opportunities exist for 4th and 5th year Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking a teaching degree to travel to the beautiful Cook Islands to undertake one of their compulsory placements.
The subsidy will enable pre-service teachers wishing to undertake placements to access funding to assist in the expenses associated with the overseas placement. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students considering undertaking their placement in the Cook Islands should contact Badanami to discuss the financial support available.
Badanami has a fund to provide financial support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high achievers in a range of sporting pursuits to attend the annual Uni Games.
