Green Day - Last Friday of every month throughout 2013
To celebrate the University's ongoing commitment to sustainable practice and the success of 2012 IT Services Green Day, the Vice-Chancellor is encouraging staff to continue the commitment of using technology over travel on the last Friday of every month during 2013. The video above shows the Vice-Chancellor announcing the 2012 Green Day event and encouraging our participation.
IT Services, in conjunction with the Office of Sustainability, will provide support to help you with the technology. Accessing this help is as simple as contacting the IT Service Desk on extension 5111 (02 9852 5111) and requesting help from a product support specialist. During the 2012 IT Services Green Day, UWS staff were encouraged to use technology rather than travel by car to attend meetings. In the preceding year, videoconferencing saved 81,646km. UWS aims to incorporate sustainable practices in all of its activities and to reduce the carbon footprint generated by travel where possible.
IT Services encourages all staff to use technology where possible and resort to travel as a last choice.
