Academic Excellence Scholarship

The UWS Academic Excellence Scholarships aim to recognise and reward academically gifted students who have achieved outstanding results in their Higher School Certificate (HSC), or equivalent. This is the perfect scholarship for a student looking for the next academic challenge, who is driven, focused, and seeking every opportunity to succeed.

Eligibility

Current high school leaver.

Courses

Any UWS undergraduate degree.

Benefits

$5,000 per year (or part-time equivalent).

Duration

Up to four years full-time (or part-time equivalent) for an undergraduate degree which may include Honours.

Criteria

Applicants must:

• be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
• reside in or have undertaken their Higher School Certificate in Greater Western Sydney
• have applied for a UWS undergraduate course as their first preference with the University Admissions Centre (UAC) by close of Change of Preferences, 5 January 2012
• demonstrate a high level of academic achievement through a minimum ATAR 90 or equivalent

Due to the competitive nature of UWS Scholarships, any Regional Bonus, Subject Bonus and other bonus points are not taken into consideration for this scholarship.

Application and Selection Process

There is no application required for this scholarship. Selection of these scholarships will be undertaken on the basis of highest ATAR, to the maximum number of scholarships available. A course quota applies.
