    Criteria

    Applicants must:

    • be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
    • be currently enrolled in their second or third year of an undergraduate Nursing degree at the UWS Hawkesbury campus
    • demonstrate financial hardship and be in receipt of a Centrelink/Department of Human Services payment.

    Dorothy Gilder

    The late Miss Dorothy Gilder provided a number of generous donations to the UWS Hawkesbury Foundation in order to assist students studying nursing on the Hawkesbury campus of UWS. Her contribution assists multiple students each year providing them not only with financial aid, but encouragement with their studies.

    Applications and Selection Process

    Applicants must provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the receipt of the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant’s background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.

    Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
