Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Achievement Scholarship
The UWS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Achievement Scholarships aim to encourage academically gifted Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are either commencing or continuing their tertiary education at UWS.
Eligibility
New and continuing students
Course(s)
Any UWS undergraduate degree
Benefits
$5,000 per year (or part-time equivalent)
Duration
Up to five years (or part-time equivalent) for an undergraduate degree which may include Honours
Criteria
Applicants must:
- be an identified Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- be able to demonstrate financial or other hardship (see Equity Criteria)
- have achieved an ATAR of 65 or above, or equivalent via the Badanami Alternative Entry Program
- be a high school leaver enrolling at UWS for the first time OR be currently enrolled in a UWS undergraduate degree and have maintained a minimum GPA of 4 (pass average)
Application and Selection Process
Application is required via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) (opens in a new window).
Selection of this scholarship is based on a combination of academic performance and financial need to the maximum number of scholarships available.
