Studying a Horticulture related degree at the UWS Hawkesbury campus (opens in a new window)

    Criteria

    Applicants must:

    • be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
    • receive an offer to study or be currently enrolled in their first year of an undergraduate degree in Horticulture or Horticulture related degree at the UWS Hawkesbury campus (opens in a new window)
    • show a particular interest in vegetable crop production and the horticulture industry
    • provide a portfolio with their application which demonstrates this area of interest

    The Kable Family

    The Kable Family has been active in the vegetable sector of the horticultural industry for over 45 years. After starting out in wholesale marketing at Flemington Markets, the past 15 years has seen the family progress into vegetable production through their Tasmanian based farm.

    The Kable Family is an ardent supporter of the industry and wishes to support its future growth and development. By seeking to support a high-achieving, dedicated future graduate with a balanced of academic and practical skills, the family is hoping to contribute to the ongoing success and longevity of the industry.

    Applications and Selection Process

    Applicants must provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the receipt of the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant’s background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.

    Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
