Dr Belgiorno-Nettis
Dr Belgiorno-Nettis is Executive Director of Transfield Holdings and many of its subsidiary companies, as well as a director of Transfield Pty. Ltd. He is the founder of the newDemocracy Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation focused on political reform.
Dr Belgiorno-Nettis has held senior management positions within Transfield Pty Ltd, including Associate Managing Director from 1999 to 2007, Regional Director Asia from 1991 to 1999 and Sabemo Development Director from 1988 to 1989. Dr Belgiorno-Nettis holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales, and a Graduate Diploma in Urban Estate Management from the University of Technology, Sydney. He also holds a number of positions on not-for-profit boards and committees, including as Chairman of the Australian International Cultural Committee, the University Art Committee at the University of Technology, Sydney, and for the past 14 years, was the Chair of the Sydney Biennale. He is a Decade Club Patron of the "Sculpture by the Sea" exhibition, and with his family is a major donor to the Art Gallery of NSW. In 2007, he was awarded the Chancellor's Award for Excellence at the University of Technology, Sydney for his contribution to Sydney's culture.
Application and Selection Process
Applications are to be submitted through the Universities Admissions Centre. Shortlisted applicants, as determined by the UAC Equity Ranking, may be required to make a written submission in support of their application.

- Recipients must remain enrolled at Western.
- Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 4.
