The Blue Mountains Youth Council Smart Start Scholarship (Engineering)

 

The Blue Mountains City Council is based in Katoomba, New South Wales, and serves 26 townships in a local government area of 1,433 square kilometres. A place of great natural beauty and rich cultural resources, the Blue Mountains attracts millions of visitors from around the world, making it one of the top three tourist destinations in Australia. Blue Mountains City Council is committed to improving the harmony between urban development and the environment, while conserving cultural heritage and responding to the needs of residents, visitors and the business community.

Eligibility

New students who are residents of the Blue Mountains Local Government Area (LGA).

$2,000.

Duration

One year.

Criteria

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
  • be a commencing student starting at UWS for the first time
  • be enrolling full-time in the Bachelor of Engineering
  • have achieved a minimum ATAR of 70
  • currently live within the Blue Mountains City Council Local Government Area (LGA)

Application and Selection Process

Selection of the successful applicant will be determined on the basis of the highest ATAR.

Scholarship applications for this year are now closed. Scholarship applications for next year will open in September 2012.
