Supported by UWS Staff, Students and Alumni

UWS Community Scholarships are donated by staff, students, alumni and friends of the University. These committed donors provide ongoing support to give our students the encouragement to be all they can be, while making us proud to be part of this spirited community.

UWS Community Scholarships provide opportunity to those who might not have otherwise had the chance to study at university because of financial hardship or other circumstances.  Recipients of the UWS Community Scholarships embody the spirit of UWS, overcoming adversity and demonstrating a commitment to furthering themselves through education.

Applications and Selection Process

Applicants must provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the receipt of the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant’s background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.

Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.

Applicants must complete the appropriate Application Form and submit the form to the Scholarships and Student Advancement Unit. Please note, applications for 2013 have now closed. Please register your interest in scholarships to be kept informed when scholarship applications open.
