Technology Commercialisation Manager
Dr Stephan Golla is the Technology Commercialisation Manager at UWS Innovation, located on the Parramatta campus. Stephan is responsible for the operational management of UWS technology commercialisation, including business development activities and contract negotiations. Through the commercialisation of UWS intellectual property, Stephan will contribute to an enhanced spirit of entrepreneurship within UWS and ensure that high-tech research at UWS ultimately benefits Australia.
Previously, as Manager-Business Development, within a medical device start-up, Stephan was responsible for the commercialisation of biomaterials, business planning, and attracting venture capital. In conjunction, as researcher and lecturer for Entrepreneurship at the European Business School (EBS) in Germany, Stephan has taught undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate courses in finance, business planning, and the management of high-technology firms. Further, during his time at EBS, Stephan presented lectures on Entrepreneurship at various European universities, served as a delegation member of the German government, and was a member on various business and IP assessment panels. He has also presented at international conferences, and has appeared in television and print interviews.
Stephan is a qualified banker, holds a graduate degree in business from the Freiberg University of Technology, with a triple major in Finance, Management of Innovations, and Mechanical Engineering. He was awarded a Doctor rerum politicarum in Entrepreneurial Finance from EBS with an empirical study on Corporate Venture Capital.
