We would like to see Western Sydney University through your eyes, and invite you to share your experience of our University with other students, staff and those who are thinking about studying at Western Sydney University.

We are seeking photos and videos that capture real experiences of studying at Western Sydney University. This could be anything from catching up with friends at a café, to playing basketball, browsing at the library, getting involved in events, doing science experiments or working in the design studio.

Sharing your photos and videos

If you are happy to share your photos and videos with students and staff, follow our accounts on social media, use the hashtag #WesternSydneyU or a WesternSydneyU filter, and tag us in or send us your photos. Also hashtag your area of study (e.g. #business) and geo-tag your location. 
If you have already uploaded some great photos or videos, just add the hashtag #WesternSydneyU and tag us in a comment on your photo or video. 

Where will photos and videos be published?

Selected photos using these hashtags or filters will be published on the University's social media sites and the digital screens around campus, so keep an eye out for your photo!
We are keen to give future students a real sense of what it is really like to study at Western Sydney University through the eyes of current students, so some of the photos and videos will be used for events such as Open Day, as well as for University websites, publications and advertising material.

Campaign Terms and Conditions

  1. University of Western Sydney (also known as Western Sydney University) ("UWS" or "University") invites current students to contribute photographs and videos depicting student life via social media for the purpose of promoting Western Sydney University to prospective students ("Campaign").
  2. To submit a photo or video and participate in the Campaign, you must:

    (a) Be a current student of the University;
    (b) Create your own social media user account;
    (c) Follow the Western Sydney University Facebook®, page, Twitter®, account, Snapchat or Instagram®, account;
    (d) Take a photo or video depicting student life at Western Sydney University and upload the photo or video to your own social media user account;
    (e) Tag the relevant University social media account in the comment field of the photo or video or send your image to our account; and
    (f) Use the hashtag #WesternSydneyU or use a WesternSydneyU filter (on Snapchat) on your photo or video.
  3. Upon completion of all of the steps outlined in Clause 2, your photo or video will be deemed to have been submitted for the purpose of the Campaign (your "Submission").
  4. By following the University's Facebook®, page, Twitter®, accountSnapchat account or Instagram account, you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
  5. You grant to the University a non-exclusive, perpetual, world-wide and royalty-free licence to use your Submission for the purpose of promoting Western Sydney University.
  6. Without limiting the generality of Clause 5, Submissions may be edited or modified and published by the University on Instagram®, Facebook®, Twitter®,  University websites, advertising and marketing material; both on campus and externally, in print and online.
  7. You acknowledge that the selection of Submissions for publication by the University is at the University's absolute discretion.
  8. You warrant that the Submission is an original work created solely by you and that the Submission does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy or intellectual property rights of any other person or entity and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the Submission. 
  9. If your Submission depicts an identifiable image of yourself or your voice, you permit the University to use your image/voice for the purpose described in Clause 5. You hereby waive any claim for payment for use of your image, voice or Submission. You hereby waive any right that you may have to inspect or approve the finished product and the advertising or promotional copy or other matter that may be used in connection with your image/voice or Submission or the use to which it may be applied. You hereby release the University from any infringement or violation of personal and or property rights of any sort whatsoever based upon the use of your image/voice.
  10. Where your Submission contains the identifiable image or voice of any third party, you warrant that you have obtained the releases and consents referred to in Clause 9 in respect of each third party and you indemnify the University in respect of any breach of this warranty. The University reserves the right to request proof of third party releases at any time.
  11. The University reserves the right to moderate and disqualify from the Campaign any Submission which, in the University's absolute discretion, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory content or does not comply with these terms or conditions.
  12. You acknowledge and agree that the University may publish your name, course of study, social media user account username and/or profile picture in connection with the publication of your Submission.
  13. You release the University (and its employees, agents and subsidiaries) from and against any liability, claim or action of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with your Submission or your participation in the Campaign.
