Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (EIPRS)
The Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (EIPRS) program (opens in a new window) enables international students to undertake a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian researchers.
Scholarships are open to international students of all countries (except New Zealand) and are available for a period of two years for a masters by research degree or three years for a doctorate by research degree. Applicants for coursework awards are not eligible to apply, even where there is a research component in the degree. Students who have already commenced their research degree may not be eligible. Current AusAID students are ineligible. The scholarship covers tuition fees and health cover costs for scholarship holders, and health cover costs for their dependants. UWS will also provide successful candidates with a living allowance.
UWS may also offer a number of institutionally funded scholarships called UWS International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UWSIPRS). These scholarships carry the same stipend and conditions of award as the EIPRS. Applicants for the EIPRS scholarship will automatically be considered for the UWSIPRS if their application for the EIPRS is unsuccessful.
The criteria for allocation of these awards is primarily academic merit. Applicants should hold at least the equivalent of an Australian first class Honours degree. This is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year, with a score of at least 80 per cent. Academic merit includes undergraduate performance, bachelor honours awards, other postgraduate degrees, publications in refereed journals, the presentation of conference papers and relevant industry experience.
Applications close each year on August 31st. For an application form and further information visit Research Scholarships.
The Australia Awards (opens in a new window) aim to promote knowledge, education links and enduring ties between Australia and our neighbours through Australia’s extensive scholarship programs.
