UWS Welcomes International Students
Recently UWS International welcomed approximately 300 students from across the globe to the University for spring session 2013. Associate Professor Yi-Chen Lan, Director, UWS International and Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) welcomed students to the 2013 orientation program, followed by an official welcome to country by the Freeman Dancers who demonstrated traditional Aboriginal dance and encouraged some crowd participation!
The orientation program was an opportunity for new students to learn more about the University, and services and facilities that are available to them such as careers and employment, health care and insurance, accommodation options, and sports and recreational activities
Students also had the chance over lunch, to mingle with some of Australia’s unique range of native wildlife including the tawny frogmouth, a ringtail possum, a grey headed flying fox, spinifex hopping mice, olive python and Dr Crunch the Crocodile.
We hope that all students enjoy their time at UWS and wish everyone the best of luck in their studies!
