Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships - Now Open

Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships are available to eligible Western Sydney International applicants commencing in 2016. The Scholarship will cover 50% of the cost of tuition fees for three years.

Western Sydney International Scholarships - Undergraduate - Now Open

Western Sydney International Scholarships will contribute a specific amount towards annual tuition fees and will increase annually over the duration of the degree.

Western Sydney University and Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) Coursework Scholarship

Western Sydney University and VIED have established a collaborative arrangement for the purposes of providing high quality education to qualified students to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate by coursework programs at Western Sydney University in Sydney.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:

  • be a citizen of Vietnam
  • be eligible to receive an Australian Student Visa 
  • have received an offer of admission to the Western Sydney University coursework program 
  • have received a scholarship offer letter from Western Sydney University 
  • Be commencing full-time enrolment at Western Sydney University
  • Not have held an Australia Awards Scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the scholarship
  • Not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution
  • satisfy the selection criteria set by VIED (opens in a new window)

Scholarship Value

The University will provide tuition fees reduction for successful applicants for:
- up to four years, in the case of undergraduate programs
- up to two years, in the case of postgraduate programs

VIED covers tuition fee after reduction, visa fees, monthly stipend and one 'round trip' airfare to Australia.

The scholarship provides students the opportunity to study in Australia to build the skills and knowledge to promote development in their home country. Scholarships are mainly at postgraduate level however there is a limited number of undergraduate scholarships (country specific).

Sydney Graduate School of Management (SGSM) International Scholarship (India) 

SGSM International Scholarship (India) will contribute a specific amount towards annual tuition fees over the duration of the degree to international students with Indian nationality.

Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) - John Allwright Fellowship

The ACIAR Fellowships Scheme was introduced in 1986 to provide the opportunity for partner country scientists involved in ACIAR-supported collaborative research projects to obtain postgraduate qualifications (at the Master of Doctoral level), at Australian tertiary institutions.

Eligibility

You must be working in one of the existing ACIARY projects in a current partner developing country (opens in a new window). You must be citizens of the country in which they are working.

Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship

Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarships are internationally competitive, merit-based scholarships provided by the Australian Government that support citizens from the participating countries to undertake Masters of PhD programs in Australia.

Eligibility

To apply, you must be from a participating country or region (opens in a new window).

Also, the applicants must:

  • be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their programme.
  • be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country.
  • commence their proposed programme after 1 January 2017 and no later than 30 November 2017. Applicants who have already commenced or will commence their intended programme prior to 2017 are not eligible to apply.
  • provide all relevant supporting documentation.
  • not currently hold or have completed, since 1 January 2014, an Australian Government sponsored scholarship and/or fellowship (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government).
  • not apply for a category in which they have already completed an Endeavour Scholarship or Fellowship.

Scholarship Value

Tuition fees ($15,000 per semester), travel allowance, establishment allowance, monthly stipend,
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and travel insurance (excluding during programme for international recipients).

Endeavour Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship

The Endeavour Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship (opens in a new window) will provide financial support for an Australian female postgraduate and/or postdoctoral fellow to undertake research (1-2 years) towards their Australian PhD or postdoctoral research within a participating country, in any field.

John Monash Scholarships

Each year John Monash Scholarships (opens in a new window) are awarded to outstanding graduates from Australian universities, who have demonstrated leadership skills, and have a vision for a better Australia. The Scholarship enables them to undertake Masters of Doctoral degrees at the world's best universities, towards that vision.

Fullbright Postgraduate Scholarships

The Fullbright Scholarships (opens in a new window) offer opportunities for postgraduate to undertake in the United States of America. Fullbright Scholarships are for promising postgraduate students to complete their Australian PhD; to undertake research and/or study in any field that supports a PhD; or to support enrolment in a U.S. postgraduate program such as a Masters. The Fullbright Postgraduate Scholarship supports an 8-10 months program.

Western Sydney University and Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) Research Scholarship

Western Sydney and VIED have established a collaborative arrangement for the purposes of providing high quality education to qualified students to undertake PhD programs at the University in Sydney.

* be a citizen of Vietnam
* be eligible to receive an Australian Student Visa
* have received an offer of admission to the Western Sydney coursework program
* have received a scholarship offer letter from Western Sydney 
* Be commencing full-time enrolment in a HDR at Western Sydney
* Not have held an Australia Awards Scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the scholarship
* Not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution
* Not previously have received an IPRS for research Doctoral degree
* satisfy the selection criteria set by VIED (opens in a new window)

Scholarship Value

The joint scholarship covers tuition fees, living allowance, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and a return airfare to Sydney for successful applicants for up to four years.

The CSC Research Scholarship is a collaborative arrangement between the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Western Sydney University to provide high quality research training to qualified students from Chinese universities with the aim of developing research collaboration between the University and Chinese universities.

Graduate Research School Scholarships

Australian Postgraduate Awards

The Australian Postgraduate Awards are Commonwealth Government funded scholarships. They are awarded to exceptional new candidates to assist with general living costs while undertaking higher degree research.

Western Sydney University Postgraduate Research Awards

Western Sydney University Postgraduate Research Awards are for full-time study towards higher degrees by research and are funded by Western Sydney University. Competition for the Western Sydney University Postgraduate Research Awards scheme is intense; only eligible applicants with qualifications equivalent to an Australian Bachelor Honours, First Class degree and demonstrated research output will be offered an award.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) are tuition fee scholarships for full-time study towards a higher degree by research. These prestigious scholarships are funded by the Australian Government.
