Justice Kirby appoint UWS law graduate as Associate

For the first time in the history of the UWS School of Law, a High Court judge has appointed a graduate as his associate. Justice Michael Kirby AC has recently appointed Ms Leonie Young as one of his final associates before retiring from the bench in March 2009.

Leonie received first class honours in law and the University medal in 2007. 

On Tuesday 31st July 2008, Justice Kirby invited the Head of School, Professor Michael Adams and Associate Head of School, Associate Professor Mac Collings with Associate Professor Robert Hayes to have lunch with the judge in chambers in Canberra to celebrate Ms Young's appointment.
