Learning and Teaching Action Plan (LTAP) 2006-2008

The Action Plan for Learning and Teaching 2006 - 2008 (PDF, 168Kb) was endorsed by the Board of Trustees in November 2005. The Plan is intended to achieve improvements in learning and teaching, using evidence to establish priorities and proven methods to effect change. Part of this plan was the provision of University funds for LTAP Action Projects within the following five themes: Assessment for Learning, Enabling Initiatives, Engaged Learning, Flexible and Blended Learning and Transitions.

The plan gained widespread acceptance during its development and launch over 2005-2006. This acceptance was in no small part due to the intense examination of our learning and teaching practices during the AUQA audit process.

In 2006, the LTAP Steering Committee was established to direct the implementation of the Learning and Teaching Action Plan 2006-2008 (LTAP). This Committee is chaired by the Pro Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) and its members include the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Enterprise), Pro Vice Chancellor (Quality), Pro Vice Chancellor (Engagement), Chair Academic Senate, and senior representatives from each of the three Colleges, the Teaching Development Unit, the Student Learning Unit, the Library and Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education and the three College Teaching Fellows.

The 2007 Implementation Plan (MS Word, 796Kb) also identified eight headline strategies for 2007, these being the review of assessment, an e-learning strategy, indigenous perspectives in the curriculum, induction to teaching, internationalisation of the curriculum, learning guides, VET transition, and transition to first year. The headline strategies align with the Senior Team Priorities and the Key Strategic Initiatives in the Create a Superior Student Learning Experience area of focus of the Integrated UWS Strategy.

The 2008 Implementation Plan (MS Word, 140Kb) summarises the achievements of 2007 and outlines the broad directions and specific priorities for action in 2008.
