Welcome to the Office of Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) led by Professor Stuart Campbell.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Services), is a member of the Senior Staff Forum, and is responsible for providing senior level leadership of the University’s learning and teaching strategic and action plans. This includes:

  • Indigenous education
  • e-Learning
  • courseware and academic development support
  • student recruitment and retention
  • teaching performance
  • access, equity and diversity
  • academic policies and programs
  • UWS/VET relationship.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor is also responsible for the following academic programs and protocols:

  • Course Approvals and Articulation Committee (Chair)
  • Academic Senate Education Committee (Chair)
  • Articulation and Academic Credit Workgroup (Chair)
  • Academic Reviews (Chair)
  • Intersectoral Partnerships.

UWS/VET Relationship

The University of Western Sydney is committed to its relationships with Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers. The University is enhancing its relationship with these organisations and has created the new position of VET/UWS Relationships Manager to oversee and manage those relationships.

The UWS/VET Relationships Manager is responsible for providing high level input into the strategic direction of the University’s interactions with a range of VET entities including specialist private providers, TAFE and HEP’s. In addition, the position manages and develops a range of strategies aimed at enhancing existing, and building new, relationships with these providers.

The core functions of the role include:

  • identifying opportunities for the University in relation to workforce development by establishing seamless pathways including reverse articulation and concurrent partnered arrangements with VET providers
  • managing, maintaining and developing credit transfer arrangements with VET providers
  • overseeing the development and implementation of a credit transfer data base and web site
  • consulting with VET providers and UWS staff, in relation to targeted course offerings that would be mutually beneficial to all parties
  • promoting credit transfer arrangements to prospective students and staff of VET organisations, and overseeing the marketing content on credit transfer arrangements for all UWS courses
  • facilitating the review and/or development of policy and procedures relating to credit transfer
  • establishing a framework for the sustainable future of the University’s relationships with VET providers
  • provision of strategic planning advice in relation to VET and the University for forward planning and future growth and development.
