Projects

The Teaching Development Unit (TDU) is responsive to the key strategic objectives of the university and is actively engaged in supporting the implementation of two key initiatives, the new assessment policy and the introduction of a lecture capture technology. TDU developed an E-Learning Quality Framework consisting of basic standards for e-learning site design and advanced standards which provide a pedagogical framework for quality student e-learning.  In partnership with Schools, the Basic Standards are being implemented to improve the quality of e-learning sites across  the whole institution.

During 2009, staff in TDU will be focusing on the following projects:

• The implementation of the new Criteria and Standards-Based Assessment Policy for Level 2 and level 3 units, and the continuing evaluation and improvement of assessment practices at UWS

• Further development of fully online staff development modules on assessment, feedback, blended learning design and integrating new technologies
