The College of Business is committed to conducting leading edge research resulting in the creation of new knowledge that enriches our teaching, fosters social and economic outcomes, and has relevance and importance locally, nationally and internationally. The College provides a stimulating and vibrant research culture that fosters collaborative research with a strong focus on research education and training for our research candidates. We collaborate with industry, government, community groups and other universities to produce high quality applied research that generates economic, environmental and social benefits for industry and other stakeholders. 

The College of Business is seeking qualified researchers in the following areas:

  • Business and Policy Innovation
  • Small business management
  • Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Law and Governance
  • Health Management

Research Context
Academic staff members in the College publish regularly in scholarly and professional journals and produce monographs and books. Research areas in the College are varied and interdisciplinary: topics include corporate social responsibility, environmental and social sustainability, innovation and technology management, property investment, development economics, family law, human rights, public international law, international marketing, health care management and employment relations. The College has two University Research Groups involved in multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with industry, community groups and other universities. The Centre for Innovation and Industry Studies (CInIS) conducts research and analysis of all aspects of innovation and industry competitiveness in Australia. The Social and Environmental Research Group conducts research on corporate social responsibility, sustainability, environmental law and governance.

Teaching Context
The College teaches across all discipline areas within business and law. Particular areas of teaching strength within the College include:

  • Human resources and industrial relations
  • Sports management
  • International business and export
  • Consumer behaviour

Specific Criteria

  • Experience in working with industry partners including business and government on collaborative research projects.
