Mary Michael completed a Bachelor of Business at UWS, but after seven years in the workforce, was looking for an extra challenge and a boost for her career. Still completing her final units, Mary has already been promoted by her current employer.

“I decided to do an MBA because I could see from the people who had completed an MBA how much they had benefited as a person but also in their careers.

“I’ve been able to learn from the experience of people in different industries, and I have actually matured and grown as a person. I have also become much more confident in my career. It has just been such a practical learning experience because I could actually apply what I learnt straightaway.

“Even though I had a business background, the MBA definitely built on what I already knew. For example, in my undergraduate degree, I never looked at financial reports or analysed companies. So this is the real-life stuff.

“If it wasn’t for my MBA, I wouldn’t be in the position I am now. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to grow, to learn and challenge themselves. The degree has surpassed what I expected it would offer.”
