Medical Education Unit

The Medical Education Unit (MEU) was founded in 2005 with Professor Ian Wilson as inaugural Director, who led the MEU during the early development of the medical school and curriculum, through to the graduation of our first cohort in 2011. From the beginning, the MEU has promoted the scholarship of learning and teaching through research, while maintaining key service roles in admissions, curriculum design, blended learning, assessment and evaluation for both our undergraduate and postgraduate medical programs.

As we move into our next phase, we look forward to strengthening our medical offerings, focusing on the quality of the student learning experience and of our teaching. With the support of a UWS Learning and Teaching Grant, we will be conducting a review of assessments across all years of the program, with more staff development in assessment and teaching. Underpinning all our activities, we'll continue to build an innovative, interdisciplinary and collaborative research program that will add to the evidence base for what works in health professional education. We warmly invite you to browse our website and contact myself or the MEU team to discuss ideas about learning, teaching and research in medical education.
