If you are studying at TAFE, a private or community college, or have completed a Certificate IV, you are well on the road to getting a degree at UWS.
At UWS we recognise TAFE or other higher education qualifications, as well as some relevant professional qualifications and work experience. These may count towards your degree and you could be eligible for guaranteed entry to a UWS degree. They may also effectively reduce the time required for you to complete your degree.
As you are no longer a Year 12 student, you are considered a non current school leaver when applying for university. Your application to study will be assessed on four criteria:
Each criteria will be given a rank out of 100, and the highest rank will be used for you to competitively gain entry to a course.
If you have more than five years work experience you may be eligible for Postgraduate Study (opens in a new window) at UWS.
1. View the Pathways into UWS (opens in a new window) degrees to explore your options.
If you have completed a course that is not listed under the agreed Pathways into UWS, you can apply for Advanced Standing (opens in a new window) (recognition of prior learning) and follow the approval process.
If you completed your studies overseas, there are International Education Pathways (opens in a new window)
2. Search the UWS Mid-Year Entry Areas of Study to confirm your course is available mid year.
3. Find out about student life at UWS.
