Students with a Disability
UWS provides a number of services and facilities to help students with a disability or chronic health condition achieve their goals at university.
What help is available?
- A Disability Advisor is available on each campus. When you know you are coming to UWS or you want to explore the possibility and are unsure what is available, make an appointment to discuss your needs.
- Special furniture or equipment can be made available in the classroom setting. Make sure you contact Disability Service early so any access issues can be addressed before you come to UWS.
- An Access Room is available on each campus with specialist software, space to work and printing facilities.
- Equipment (such as laptops and audio recording) can be borrowed for the length of a teaching session so you can try things out. There is only a limited amount of equipment available and you will need to provide any special equipment or software yourself.
- Note taking assistance is available for lectures and tutorials.
- Exam adjustments can be made when required for in class tests and formal end-of-session exams.
Be prepared for Uni
