UWS Symposium on MRI and Diffusion 2012
Friday 30th November Lecture Theatre 5, Building 21 UWS Campbelltown Campus
This symposium will showcase recent theoretical developments and new applications of MRI and NMR Diffusion measurements. It will bring together leading domestic and international experts on topics ranging from medical applications to porous materials. The symposium is open to all including students. Researchers who would not normally think to include MRI and MRI diffusion measurements in their research are especially encouraged to attend.
Attendees are invited to display a poster of their research and the best student poster will be awarded a prize.
Invited Speakers:
| Professor Graham Galloway | The University of Queensland | MR Microscopy – Exploring Inner Space |
| Professor Mike Johns | The University of Western Australia | Emulsion characterisation using low field NMR |
| Professor Shingo Matsukawa | Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Japan | Application of gradient NMR to studies on polysaccharide gel systems |
| Professor Magnus Nydén | University of South Australia | A new theory for interpreting NMR diffusion experiments of restricted motion |
| Professor Roger Ordidge | University of Melbourne | Imaging of sub-voxel microstructure in biomedical MRI |
| Professor Lindy Rae | The University of New South Wales | It pays to increase your brain power: MR studies of transcranial direct current stimulation. |
| Professor Peter Stilbs | KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden | Some recent progress in PGSE NMR - information content from spectral data correlation and forced electrophoretic transport |
| Dr Petrik Galvosas | Victoria University of Wellington, NZ | NMR with high pulsed field gradients: nuts and bolts |
| Dr Roger Bourne | University of Sydney | Multi-scalar characterization of diffusion in prostate tissue |
| Dr Allan Torres | University of Western Sydney | Singlet state NMR diffusion measurements |
| Dr Klaus Zick | Bruker Biosciences Corporation, Germany | Micro imaging and diffusion news from the Bruker micro imaging group |
