We have a long history of externally funded research success and a number of active research groups, with over 100 Honours and Post-graduate research students contributing to all areas of research within the school. Our research activities are undertaken in collaboration with partners within Australia and a diverse range of international organisations.
The Centre for Plants and the Environment is a research centre with an international reputation. The peri-urban node of the Cooperative Research Centre for Irrigation Futures is part of our school and is developing innovative approaches to the management of scarce water resources in Sydney (including water capture and re-use). This research is embodied in a Weekly Seminar Series in which staff and research students present their work in a public forum designed to stimulate active debate and discussion.
