New Student Organisation

Introduction

The Board of Trustees of the University has given in principle approval to the establishment of a single 'New Student Organisation' for all students of the University, undergraduates and postgraduates. The new organisation has been incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (ACN 135 576 180) and an interim board of directors has been appointed pending elections for office holders in April 2009.

The NSO has established an interim website at www.pauws.asn.au

Membership of the NSO

How do I join or decide not to join?

All students are entitled to be a member of the New Student Organisation. There is no joining fee or annual subscription for members. The NSO's constitution that applies to all members can be found at the NSO's interim website.

The interim board of directors of the NSO will be establishing a systematic process in conjunction with the University to admit students to membership except for those who indicate that they do not wish to join. In the interim students may indicate their desire to join now by sending your details in an email to the General Manager of the NSO at j.mcguire@uws.edu.au

You do not need to be a member to participate in the upcoming elections unless you wish to stand for one of the six director positions on the Executive. Students will also be able to join the NSO as part of the election nominations process.
