Nostalgia, an exhibition for those who would love to return to their passion

 
A series of images celebrating life in Greater Western Sydney form the centre piece of a new exhibition at the UWS art gallery.

The Nostalgia exhibition has drawn together artists who studied at UWS and are now visual arts teachers in the region to help celebrate the University’s 25 years celebrations.

UWS art curator Monica McMahon says “this exhibition is a portraiture and landscape feast, demonstrating the innovative and creative practices of teachers who are a product of UWS.”

All artworks in this exhibition have been created by secondary high school teachers who have a passion for both education and art.  Their works take the viewer on a journey through the complex state that is the sense of Nostalgia a feeling for most, especially those teaching Visual Arts.

The exhibition has offered the teachers the opportunity to return to where their original passion began, as university students’ who then had the time to express themselves through their artworks.

• The Featured Artists include:

Elisha Allison, Liam Brassil, Rebecca Clancy, Alexandra Kenworthy, Coby Keys and Kristy Pugliano.

They are all UWS graduates and visual arts teachers in the Greater Western Sydney Region.

The UWS Art Gallery is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
