For Journalists

Information for Journalists

The University of Western Sydney’s Media Unit is here to help local, national and international media cover stories relating to the University.

We are a diverse team with expertise in news reporting, television production, radio program production, magazine writing and public relations.

We understand the qualities of a good story and the importance of deadlines.

Working journalists are encouraged to contact the Media Unit for help in researching a story, finding an expert to comment on breaking news and arranging photography or filming.

Story leads

The Media Unit is in close contact with the University’s researchers, academics and higher education policy specialists. We can provide story leads specific to your needs.

Media releases on research, expert commentary and University events are frequently published on the News Centre website which has an RSS Feed facility.

The Media Unit also operates a Twitter Feed and posts photographs to Flickr

Expert Commentary

Journalists can search the UWS expert directory for specialists in a wide range of fields. If you don’t find the expertise you need in the directory, just call the Media Unit for immediate assistance.
