Western Sydney University named one of the world’s best young universities
Western Sydney University has been named in the QS World University Rankings 'Top 50 Under 50', which rates fast-rising universities under 50 years of age.
Appearing in the list for the first time, Western Sydney University has placed in the 81 – 90 band, showcasing its expanding international reach.
The QS World University Rankings measure universities on areas such as academic reputation and citations, as well as the proportion of international students, the faculty-to-student ratio, and employer reputation.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover says while rankings can move around year after year, they do provide an important benchmark for the University, with everyone sharing in the achievement.
"We are very pleased with this latest rankings result, which reflects the hard work of many in the University community, who continue to strengthen our performance across all aspects of our teaching, research and international outreach. I congratulate everyone on this success," says Professor Glover.
