University excels at student experience

Western Sydney University has outperformed some of NSW's more established universities across a number of areas, including the all-important benchmarks of student satisfaction and teaching quality, with the release of the latest data from the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) website.

QILT is an initiative of the Australian Government's Department of Education and Training, which uses results from surveys completed by both current students and graduates from around Australia to build a clear and transparent picture of universities' performance in a number of key areas.

Western Sydney University scored impressively across a number of key indicators including:

• Overall quality of educational experience - 78 per cent
• Overall satisfaction – 85 per cent 
• Teaching quality – 80 per cent
• Learning resources – 88 per cent
• Student support – 71 per cent
• Skills development – 82 per cent

Western Sydney University Vice-President (People and Advancement) Mr Angelo Kourtis says the results clearly demonstrate the University's student-centred approach.

"We strive to put the student experience at the heart of everything we do at Western Sydney University, and we are proud to say that our students and graduates think so too," says Mr Kourtis.
